🌱 Extends Critical Support to 200 Families and Students Impacted by Typhoon Bualoi

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ho Chi Minh City, VIETNAM — October 1, 2025 — The Bach’s Wish Fund, in close cooperation with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has mobilized to support 200 families and students in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces in the aftermath of Typhoon Bualoi, one of the most destructive storms to hit Vietnam this year.

According to reports from state media and international outlets, Typhoon Bualoi has killed at least 11 people, left dozens more missing or injured, and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes across central and northern Vietnam. Torrential rains flooded fields, washed away bridges, tore roofs off buildings, and downed power lines, plunging large areas — including Ha Tinh province — into blackouts. Nearly 30,000 people were evacuated, while disruptions to transport and daily life continue as communities begin recovery efforts.

Relief and Educational Support

In response, The Bach’s Wish Fund and the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinated immediate relief efforts to stabilize affected families while protecting children’s access to education. Families in Nghe An and Ha Tinh received essential emergency aid packages of food, clean water, and hygiene supplies. To ensure children can return to school without long-term disruption, the Fund also provided school supplies, and uniforms.

A Founder’s Commitment

“Typhoon Bualoi destroyed homes, crops, and livelihoods, leaving families in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces facing immense hardship,” said Nam Nguyen, Founder and Executive Director of The Bach’s Wish Fund. “Education becomes even more vital in times of crisis. Through our cooperation with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, we are able to provide immediate relief while also safeguarding children’s futures by ensuring their education continues despite the devastation.”

Partnership in Action

The partnership with the Vietnam Fatherland Front enabled The Bach’s Wish Fund to quickly identify and reach the most vulnerable households in the disaster zone. Together, both organizations are demonstrating how cross-sector collaboration can amplify impact in moments of urgent need.

Strengthening Community Resilience

This emergency response reflects the Fund’s broader mission: to bridge humanitarian relief with long-term educational empowerment. By addressing both immediate survival needs and future learning opportunities, The Bach’s Wish Fund is helping communities build resilience against the increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather events driven by climate change.
